Contract Details: Jorge Scientific Corp., Arlington, Va., was awarded on Sept. 28 a $47,105,824 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The purpose of this action is to research methods for a Security Apparatus Unit to perform counter insurgency efforts in support of the Afghani National Police. The Project Legacy Qandahar plan is to adapt the technology developed under Legacy-A and Legacy-Iraq to the new Qandahar problem and will focus on Regional Command Capital and outlying districts. Work is to be performed in Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of Feb. 28, 2012. Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web with 999 bids received.
