Contract Details: Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $16,340,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract in support of advanced planning and material procurement of the depot modernization program of USS Springfield. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn. (99 percent) and Quonset Point, R.I. (1 percent), and is to be completed by May 2004. Contract funds in the amount of $14,161,450 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with proposals solicited from the two nuclear-qualified, private shipyards via Commerce Business Daily. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-03-C-2102).
