The NAVDDS is one element within an integrated upgrade to the Taiwan DDG-1801 class combat systems and are specifically replacing the current obsolete navigation and associated distribution systems on those ships. Work will be performed in Charlottesville, Va., (95 percent), Kaohsiung, Taiwan, (5 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division is the contracting activity (N00178-09-C-1003).
