The work to be performed provides for new fire alarms, installation, and incidental related work. There will be four new fire alarm systems (mirroring the existing fire alarm systems) in this project and the fire alarm system being installed in Building 9 to cover approximately half of that building under the Base Realignment and Closure project will be extended to the rest of the building. The new systems will serve: Building 1, Buildings 2, 7 and 8, Buildings 4 and 6, and Building 10. Work will be performed in Bethesda, Md., and is expected to be completed by Mar. 2012. Funds for this project are provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Three proposals were received for this task order. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N40080-06-D-0004).
