Boeing Co., Navigation and Communication Systems, Huntington Beach, Calif., is being awarded an $18,000,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification. This modification issues an undefinitized contract action to accomplish Space Vehicle Risk Reductions and Systems Definition (SVRR&SD) by 30 September 2007. This work is necessary as it reduces risks in support of the Government milestones decisions to proceed with Phase B activities. The SVRR&SD effort identifies specific objectives to ensure GPS IIIA time certain development by addressing the critical technologies and engineering integration processes that need to be matured. At this time, $8,820,000 have been obligated. This work will be complete September 2007. Headquarters Global Positioning Systems Wing, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (FA8807-04-C-0002/P00024).
