Tetra Tech Tesoro, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., is being awarded a $12,162,112 firm-fixed-price contract for design and construction of the steam plant area decentralization at Naval Station Norfolk. The work to be performed provides for reduction of energy consumption while improving infrastructure. The project consists of energy conservation measures for lighting, water, retro commissioning, infrared heat, mechanical retrofits, and conversion of steam to natural gas. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by August 2012. Funds for this project are provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
