Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Columbia, Md., is being awarded a $5,702,891 cost-plus-fixed-fee completion type research and development contract. The contractor will perform advanced research efforts associated with development of advances for multi-ban synthetic aperture radar systems for advanced radar research which will provide the tools to investigate innovative techniques for integration of system for advanced radar research data with additional sensor channels; real time high speed data processing analysis and display; optimal combined processing of multi-and and multi-channel data; and supporting research and development of sensor tools to study ocean properties. This contract contains options which, if exercised, would bring the contract value to $9,944,176. Work will be performed in Columbia, Md., and is expected to be completed December 2011. If all options are exercised, the period of performance will be 51 months. Contract funds in the amount of $1,100,000 will expire at end of current fiscal year. The contract was procured under Naval Research Laboratory Broad Agency Announcement N00173-01, Topic 74-09-01.
