Sauer, Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., was awarded on Sept. 22 a $6,661,700 firm-fixed-price contract. This project include two one-story and a new two-story rigid steel frame, block and brick 33,723 square foot facility additions for high priority support sections. Included are site improvements, utilities generator and switchgear upgrade, mechanical and architectural features, force protection, intrusion detection generator and switchgear upgrade, mechanical and architectural features, force protection, intrusion detection systems, fire detection/protection systems, communications, public address systems, audio-visual, classrooms, conference room, latrines, parachute heavy drop area, showers, offices, vehicle bay, storage, parking and erosion control measures. Project will also include renovation of 56,285 square foot of existing space for mission support elements. Heating and air conditioning for the projects will be determined by an analysis conducted by the architect/engineer during the design phase. Work is to be performed in Fort Bragg, N.C., with an estimated completion date of March 29, 2012. Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web with 16 bids received.
