Aerojet General Corp., Rancho Cordova, Calif., is being awarded a $7,502,212 firm-fixed-price contract modification to develop a set of modeling and simulation tools for closed expander hydrogen fueled engines that will allow attainment of increase in the specific impulse and in the thrust/weight over the baseline and that applicability to other engine cycles. This modification puts on contract the next generation engine and the upper-stage technology options. This work supports the integrated high payoff rocket propulsion technology in the boost and orbit transfer mission area for the upper stage engine. The location of performance is Rancho Cordova, Calif. AFPTC/PKTA, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (FA9300-04-C-0008 PO0057).
