The Missile Defense Agency is announcing the award of a modification to contract HQOI47-11-C-0003 with Alliant Techsystems (ATK), Inc., Minneapolis, Minn., with an award value of $13,502,462. Under this contract, ATK will develop and test Solid Divert and Attitude Control Systems (SDACS) technologies of interest to the Missile Defense Agency. This contract represents part of the Missile Defense Agency’s technology development strategy to improve performance and reduce risk for BMD interceptor divert and attitude control systems. This contract was a competitively awarded procurement. Work will be performed at Elkton, Md., from February 2012 through December 2012. Fiscal 2012 Research, Development, Test and Evaluation funds in the amount of $800,000 will be used to incrementally fund this effort. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is not a Foreign Military Sale acquisition. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity.
