Trex Enterprises Corp. *, San Diego, Calif., was awarded a maximum $6,799,694 competitive cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for thermally insensitive telescope mirrors. Under this new Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase III contract, the contractor will design, model, prototype, and test chemical vapor composite silicon carbide mirrors for the SM-3 seeker telescope. The work will be performed in Lihue, Hawaii with an estimated completion date of October 2014. Fiscal year 2013 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $6,799,694 are being obligated on this award. This contract was competitively procured in accordance with the SBIR Program Policy Directive. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity (HQ0147-13-C-7002).
