Sierra Nevada Corporation, Sparks, Nevada, has been awarded a $10,838,029 cost-plus-fixed-fee completion contract for Open Missions Systems Future Airborne Capability Environment Systems Development Feasibility Demonstration Model. Contractor will study the interoperability standards of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) and Open Missions Systems programs and identify and assess the differences; will identify, assess and document guidelines for future AF FACE implantation for subsystems and software aboard manned and unmanned aircraft; and define and document a technical OFSD prototype plan that identifies the integration approaches and demonstration of interoperable weapon system technology and methods. Work will be performed at Sparks, Nevada, and is expected to be complete by Dec. 12, 2016. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and offers were solicited electronically via an open Broad Agency Announcement. Fiscal year 2015 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $3,325,000 are being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York, is the contracting activity (FA8750-15-C-0127).
