Detyens Shipyards Inc., Charleston, South Carolina, is being awarded a $9,463,332 firm-fixed-price contract for 71-calendar day shipyard availability for the regular overhaul and dry docking of USNS Big Horn (T-AO 198). Work will include general ship services; clean and gas free tanks; hazardous waste disposal; tank preservation; pump room bilge preservation; replace various piping; tank deck overhead preservation; lifeboat deck overhead repairs; port and starboard main engine 72,000 hour overhaul; port and starboard main engine coupling replacement; hot water tank replacement; docking and undocking; underwater hull cleaning and preservation; and freeboard preservation. The contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total contract value to $9,739,567. Work will be performed in Charleston, South Carolina, and is expected to be completed by March 22, 2016. With options exercised, work will continue through April 1, 2016. Fiscal 2016 maintenance and repair contract funds in the amount of $9,463,332 are being obligated at the time of award. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured, with proposals solicited via the Federal Business Opportunities website and three offers received.
