University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, has been awarded a $14,994,756 cooperative agreement (HR0011-16-2-0014) for a research project under the Tailorable Feedback and Forming (TFF) Program. The TFF program aims to develop the manufacturing of small (20 pounds or under) Department of Defense composite parts at costs competitive to metal using a new composite material format and novel reconfigurable forming/molding processes that enable fabrication of multiple part configurations. Fiscal 2015 research and development (R&D) funds in the amount of $500,000; and fiscal 2016 R&D funds in the amount of $4,063,596 are being obligated at time of award. Work will be performed in Newark, Delaware (65 percent); Blacksburg, Virginia (7 percent); Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (15 percent); and Clemson, South Carolina (13 percent), with an expected completion date of March 2019. This cooperative agreement was a competitive acquisition and six offers were received. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
