The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Missouri has been awarded a $45,296,013 firm-fixed-price contract for development, production and sustainment of a KC-46 maintenance training system. Contactor will provide an integrated contractor-operated and contractor-supported maintenance training system (MTS) for all KC-46 maintenance training. As an integrated training system solution, the MTS will include interactive multimedia instruction (IMI), classroom facilities in the form of virtual maintenance training systems, and several types of augmented hardware training devices such as landing gear trainers and boom operator trainers. The overall intent of the KC-46 MTS is to minimize on-aircraft maintenance training. Work will be performed at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 28, 2019. The award is the result of a competitive acquisition and six offers were received. Fiscal 2015 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $1,000,000 are being obligated at the time of the award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8621-16-C-6390).
