Saab Defense and Security USA LLC, East Syracuse, New York, is being awarded a $38,069,123 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for the design, development, manufacture, integration, demonstration, and test of the AN/SPN-50(V)1 radar system for air traffic control aboard Navy aircraft carriers and amphibious ships. This contract provides for the delivery of three engineering development models. Work will be performed in Gothenburg, Sweden (47.1 percent); East Syracuse, New York (35.6 percent); Exeter, New Hampshire (17.2 percent); and Moorestown, New Jersey (.1 percent), and is expected to be completed in December 2022. Fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $12,500,000 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via a request for proposals; two offers were received. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity (N00019-16-C-5000).
