Raytheon Co., Goleta, California, has been awarded a $ 7,355,017 cost-plus-fixed-fee completion form contract for the Focused Opportunity Reaching Toward Reliable Electro-Optic Strategic Sensors (FORTRESS) program. Contractor will work to advance and maintain the state-of-the-art, scientific knowledge, growth, processing, characterization capability associated with low noise infrared sensor chip assemblies used for National Strategic Space. Work will be performed at Goleta, California, and is expected to be complete by July 10, 2019. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Fiscal 2016 research, development, test, and evaluation funds in the amount of $3,100,000 are being obligated at the time of award.
