RQ Construction LLC, Carlsbad, California, is being awarded a $24,395,000 firm-fixed-price contract for structural repairs to Wharf Bravo at Naval Air Station Guantanamo Bay. The contract also contains one unexercised option, which if exercised, would increase the cumulative contract value to $36,779,000. The work to be performed provides for repair and maintenance measures designed to promote long-term life and serviceability of Wharf Bravo including repair of steel sheet pile, repair sections of spalled concrete, replacement of steel fender framing, replacement of missing chains on camels and cleaning and recoating and/or replacing deteriorated mooring fittings. The project includes installation of new steel sheet pile wall in order to create a single linear facility. The project also includes soil stabilization to meet current site seismic requirements and will occur in the area behind the existing sheet pile wall. Work will be performed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and is expected to be completed by September 2018. Fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $24,395,000 are obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website with two proposals received.
