BAE Systems - Electronic Systems Sector, Austin, Texas, has been awarded a $15,300,000 firm-fixed-price supply contract for 242 retrofit systems for the (AN/ALE)-58A countermeasure dispenser system. The system dispenses countermeasure decoys (chaff, flare and others) against radar and infrared homing threats to enhance aircraft survivability. Work will be performed at Austin, Texas, and is expected to be complete by June 8, 2019. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Fiscal 2015 and 2016 National Guard and Reserve equipment funds in the amount of amount of $15,300,000 is being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting activity (FA8523-17-C-0001).
