Watts Contrack JV, Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded a $26,373,480 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of the apron expansion and supporting facilities at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. The work to be performed provides for the construction of an aircraft apron and supporting facilities for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft program. Supporting facilities include a low-rise sonobuoy storage facility, open concrete slab rinse facility, and a low rise liquid oxygen facility. The project will also demolish the existing sonobuoy storage and liquid oxygen facilities, and other miscellaneous facilities on the flight-line. The contract also contains one unexercised option, which if exercised would increase cumulative contract value to $26,374,230. Work will be performed in Oak Harbor, Washington, and is expected to be completed by June 2018. Fiscal 2014 and 2015 military construction (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $26,373,480 are obligated on this award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with two proposals received.
