Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla., is being awarded a $8,660,000 cost-plus fixed-fee contract modification to define, analyze, design, and demonstrate a pre-prototype spaceborne TRL-5, payload consisting of a electronic scanned array and an on-board processing component, which meets the tactical and national user near real-time data needs for ground-moving targeting indication, synthetic aperture radar, and digital terrain elevation data. Total funds have been obligated. This work will be completed by September 2003. The solicitation began in November 2002 and negotiations were completed in February 2003. The Headquarters Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base is the contracting activity (F04701-03-C-0011).
