Sealift, Inc., Oyster Bay, N.Y., is being awarded a $9,686,000 firm-fixed-price contract for a 334-calendar day time charter of MV MAJ Bernard F. Fisher. The ship’s primary mission will be to preposition U.S. Marine Corps ammunition at sea. Fisher is expected to operate in and around Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $46,487,320. Work on the contract is expected to commence November 2009 and is expected to be completed within 334-calendar days or, if all options are exercised, in September 2014. The contract is expected to be funded in fiscal year 2010, and funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured, with four offers received.
